Ikea Meatballs and Chicken Wings Galore

Fancy travelling from one end of SG to another end just for a meal? That’s probably what we are starting to do at least 1-2 times a month. And Ikea is somewhere we visit rather frequently (despite always leaving the place empty handed – but tummy full!).
Seafood Chowder ($3.00)
I’m always a big fan of seafood or clam chowder and this has bits of salmon and clam in it. Taste is about right and it will be better if you season with a little black pepper so that it doesn’t taste too fishy.
Fried Chicken Wings (6 for $7.50)
To die for. Worth every risk of a heart attack. I love these old-school type of fried chicken wings unlike the heavily battered type that KFC, Popeye’s or Texas serves. I just love the natural crispy taste of the wings without much seasoning. Only the original sweetness of the chicken. Don’t even have to dip them in chilli sauce. They taste good on their own! Just make sure you get a plate of fresh piping hot ones and not those that are left out in the open for a while.
Swedish Meatballs (20 for $9.50)
They are so addictive! And they go so well with the brown gravy and lingonberry jam. Perfect match of savoury and sweet. I like to cut my meatballs in half and make sure I scoop up as much sauce as possible and then devour the whole half. Heavenly.
Almond Cake ($2.80)
Desserts are must-orders for my husband but this is really too sweet for my liking. I get sick after a few mouthfuls. No doubt, forget the inventive ‘new generation’ dishes and just go for their traditional meatballs and power wings. Yummy.
