Madame Tussauds Singapore @ Sentosa

I had actually stopped buying stuffs on Qoo10 for a long time because it was just too easy to get hooked onto online shopping. I would tend to overspend and end up buying things that I didn’t really need. Having insufficient space at home to store my white elephants didn’t help and I had to start selling stuffs on eBay. How ironic, haha.

Not too long ago, the husband checked out Qoo10 for tech stuffs and bought loads. Oh no! Well, the wife followed suit and jumped back on the Qoo10 bandwagon too. Goodbye to my (brief) efforts to kick the Qoo10 habit. The recent deals and steals are just too good to miss!

Anyway, I wanted to first share this Madame Tussauds ticket deal that I bought via a local travel agent on Qoo10 Singapore (click on the image below) which was cheaper than the published rates of S$39 (if purchased on the spot) and S$29 (if purchased online from Madame Tussauds website).

[S$20.89]Madame Tussauds Wax Museum Images of Singapore LIVE Spirit of Singapore boat ride. 3-in-1 SUPER PROMO!

The promotional ticket price of S$20.89 per adult included the full 3-in-1 experience of Madame Tussauds, Spirit of Singapore boat ride and Images of Singapore LIVE. With additional Qoo10 coupons, I only paid S$38.78 for 2 persons which worked out to be under S$19.40 per pax. Tickets had to be collected via the agent office at Horne Road (Jalan Besar) which was a breeze to do so.

Sentosa

So off we headed to Sentosa for a day out. 🙂

We were greeted by Lady Gaga at the door. 🙂

The current Images of Singapore LIVE was so different from what I remembered as there were no longer still exhibits but more of a theatrical performance with live actors. We felt like we were brought back in time. It was a fun way to learn more about the history of Singapore.

Next, we checked out Madame Tussauds Singapore which was one of Sentosa’s newest additions.

The wax figures in the museum were mostly of international/Asian past legends and present celebrities. We spotted some of Singapore’s political leaders and TV personalities too.

And here’s a glimpse of probably a third of the exhibits. (note this is an image-intensive post with spoilers!)

I just thought these figures looked a bit off. Michelle Yeoh’s head was out of proportion. The facial features of Huang Wenyong and Andy Lau were just not quite right.

Anyway before you leave, don’t forget to check out the ‘Spirit of Singapore’ (included in the ticket price) which is the first ever Madame Tussauds boat ride. Initially, I thought this would be an interesting ride with lots to see but it turned out to be really short (and so abrupt that I let out an ‘Ahhh’ of surprise at the end of the video below, lol) and before I knew it, I was back to the boarding point. A bit rubbish but oh well, just for the fun of it, lol. So here’s the spoiler video for those who might be interested to see what’s going on –

I had visited Madame Tussauds in London and New York while travelling and thought it was pretty fun getting up close and personal with my favourite celebrities whom I wouldn’t have the chance or luck to see in real life. Perhaps because this was already my 3rd time at a Madame Tussauds museum that it was becoming a little boring for me without much surprise element except for the boat ride. However for those who haven’t been to a wax museum, it’s definitely worth checking out the attraction especially if you’re into taking pictures. Also, be amazed by these wax figures as most of them really looked like the real persons. Try putting your arm over Leonardo DiCaprio’s shoulder or hold the hand of Brad Pitt, lol. You can’t do that in real life but you can do so at Madame Tussauds. Overall, still a good day out 😉
