Raffles Place Bistro at The Sail @ Marina Bay

A day of exploring the Marina area brought us to The Sail where we spotted a lovely looking, no-frills bistro with open air seating area. It was such a breezy afternoon that we had to hide behind a pillar wall to prevent bad hair days while dining. And we love the concept of this bistro that serves home-cooked style western and Italian food.
Pork chops ($14.00)
I ordered the pork chops which was pleasantly presented with a mash and salad. I liked the idea of having the sauce served separately instead of pouring it over the meat like some restaurants do. The meat was tender with a layer of fats round the edge just like how lamb chops are usually served. Unfortunately, the sauce wasn’t much of a hype. It tasted like bottled HP sauce with some pepper and spices. The mash was disappointing too. I tasted some light cheese in it but it was just too dry.
Grilled chicken ($14.00)
My friend ordered the grilled chicken which was much much better than my pork chops. Very tender and juicy. Good on its own, without the sauce (same sauce as the pork chop’s). The fries with cajun seasoning were very addictive too. We finished all of them!
