Oriental Sausage Rolls Recipe (three ingredients only)

It’s Fri-YAY and it’s also Junk Food Day! 😆 Today, I’m sharing a really easy recipe, Oriental Sausage Rolls.

This recipe only requires 3 ingredients with minimal preparation – Oriental sausages (a.k.a. Taiwanese sausages), frozen puff pastry and an egg wash. You can get the sausages from the chilled section at major supermarkets here in Singapore.

I recommend the Golden Dragon brand that has both pork and chicken sausages. My preference is the latter. If you’re getting the regular size sausages (i.e. 5 pieces in a pack), you can then cut each sausage into thirds to make 15 rolls in total. Alternatively, you can also get the cocktail pack whereby the sausages are already in smaller sizes.

As for the puff pastry, any brand will do. Some require rolling whereas some are ready-rolled so buy whatever works best for you.

Before putting the rolls into the oven, it’s recommended to give them a brush of egg wash just to add that extra colour on the crust. Just look at them – so enticingly delicious. 🙂

These Oriental Sausage Rolls are so easy to prepare and they make great finger food for parties and entertaining.

Give this recipe a try and let me know what you think! 😉

Oriental Sausage Rolls Recipe
15 pieces
  • 1 packet Oriental sausages 250g (5 pieces)
  • 1 sheet frozen puff pastry approx. 165g, slightly thawed
  • 1 egg, beaten
Preheat oven to 180 deg C. Line a baking tray with parchment paper.
Cut each sausage into 3 equal parts to get 15 pieces in total.
Cut the puff pastry into 15 triangles, making sure the bottom (widest) part of each triangle covers the length of each sausage piece (from Step 2).
Place each sausage piece on the widest end of the puff pastry triangle and roll it up. Transfer onto the baking tray.
Brush the top of the pastry with the beaten egg.
Place the sausage rolls in the middle of the oven and bake for 15 minutes or till the pastry appears golden brown and crispy.
