Steamed Red Snapper Recipe

Steamed Red Snapper Recipe

* This post is published in collaboration with Lee Kum Kee.

This Sauce for Fried Cod Fillet from Lee Kum Kee is obviously for dousing over a piece of fried cod but since I never really like frying fish much (mostly because I don’t want to stink up the house as I have an open-concept kitchen with no cooker hood), I serve the sauce with steamed red snapper instead. You can just use any fish you like, whether steamed or deep-fried, cos’ this sauce is really robust in flavour but just a tad too salty in my opinion so it kinda masks the freshness and sweetness of the fish. But if you like convenient meals that’s easy to prepare, this packet sauce is not a bad choice to cook with every now and then.

Ingredients (serves 3-4)
1 red snapper steak
3-4 slices ginger
1 pack Lee Kum Kee Sauce for Fried Cod Fillet (50g)
coriander leaves as garnish

Instructions
1. Arrange ginger slices in one single layer in a steaming dish and place the snapper on top. Steam at high heat for about 6-8 minutes till fish is cooked through.
2. While the fish is steaming, empty the pack of sauce into a small saucepan and bring it to a boil.
3. When the fish is ready, just drizzle the sauce over and garnish with coriander leaves.
