Aparthotel Adagio Brussels Grand Place Review

Aparthotel Adagio Brussels Grand Place was our home base for exploring Brussels after checking out from Tribe Amsterdam City. We hopped on an InterCity train from Amsterdam Centraal (booked via Trainline) – it stops everywhere, takes forever, but hey, cheaper and the timing worked perfectly for us.

Super convenient—the metro station is right at the doorstep.

Getting to Aparthotel Adagio Brussels Grand Place

The hotel sits less than 10 minutes on foot from Brussel-Centraal station. Can’t be bothered to walk? Take the metro to De Brouckere station. The exit literally dumps you right next to the hotel entrance. Ring the door bell, they buzz you in.

It’s quite a bustling area, with plenty of cafés, restaurants, shops, and supermarkets conveniently nearby.

First impressions count—the lobby feels welcoming and the reception staff are consistently friendly and helpful.

The lobby has a section for beverages and snacks, which is really convenient if you don’t feel like heading out.

Room Details and First Impressions

Check-in was quick. No fuss, no waiting around. We booked a 25 m² Studio for two with twin singles at roughly S$270 per night. Security’s tight here – you need your room card to enter the lobby and access the lifts.

Room 717 became our temporary Brussels home. The layout’s v-shaped once you exit the lift. Here’s the thing though: the corridor and main door look proper dated. Room interior shows its age too. Peeling paint in the toilet caught my eye, grout lines in the bathroom need serious attention. But cleanliness? No complaints there.

Room Tour: What You Actually Get

The mattress surprised me – soft and comfy. Storage space? Plenty. Bedroom lighting’s dim though, bit annoying if you’re reading. There’s a small book corner with actual French books (not fake decorator nonsense) and a terrarium on the shelves beside the bed.

Windows face the mall interior. Leave them open like we did, you’ll hear everything – people chatting, footsteps, the works.

Inside the wardrobe: extra folding chair, floor sweeper (nice touch for keeping tidy), ironing board, and iron.

The bathroom setup follows Japanese-style logic – separate WC with washbasin, shower area with bathtub on the flip side. They provide handwash and 2-in-1 shower gel, plus a hairdryer. Everything else? Bring your own.

The Kitchenette Situation

This aparthotel actually delivers on the “apart” bit. Fully equipped kitchenette with induction stove, sink, cutlery, utensils, and tableware. Coffee machine, fridge, and dishwasher included.

Pull-out table below the writing desk transforms into dining space or extra counter when cooking.

Random note: TV exists but no cable. Previous guest nicked it maybe? Haha! Didn’t bother us since we had our devices anyway.

Location Makes This Aparthotel Worth It

Aparthotel Adagio Brussels Grand Place sits in the Anspach area. Burger King and Carrefour right across the street. Right side offers Galet, Black & White Burger, other food spots. Walk a bit left, there’s a local supermarket with better prices.

Everything’s 5-10 minutes away on foot. Grand Place, shops, restaurants – all within easy reach. This location alone justifies booking here.

Final Verdict

The Aparthotel Adagio Brussels Grand Place won’t win beauty contests with that dated corridor and bathroom grout situation. But the location crushes it. Having a proper kitchenette transforms the experience – feels like an actual equipped apartment rather than just another hotel room. Reception staff were friendly and helpful throughout.

If you want convenience over Instagram-worthy interiors, this aparthotel delivers. Just manage expectations on the aesthetics front. 🙂
