Hiap Joo Bakery & Biscuit Factory – 2025 Price List Updates You Need to Know

Not exactly sharing a long, detailed food review post about Hiap Joo Bakery & Biscuit Factory this time. I’ve already raved about their banana cake and coffee cake previously. But I thought I’d share their 2025 price list so you know what to expect before heading down to JB.

There’s been a price increase since I last blogged about it last year. Plus there are some changes to their timetable for their butter cake and coffee cake too. These gems are now available from Tuesday to Friday mornings.

My Recent Visit

I came by Hiap Joo wanting to buy their coffee cake again. Fell in love with it since trying it for the first time last year. Even though I thought I was early at 9.30am on a Friday, I was told the coffee cake had sold out. Only banana cake and butter cake remained, so I bought these two instead.

First-Time Butter Cake Experience

This was my first time trying the butter cake, and I genuinely liked it. Moist and buttery with that traditional bakery charm you can’t find in modern cafe. This butter cake definitely delivers on both texture and flavour.

Coffee Still Reigns Supreme

Coffee cake remains the best in my opinion, but this butter cake runs a very close second. It’s definitely better than the banana cake, which I feel has deteriorated in standard. The banana cake isn’t as moist and buttery as before, and it doesn’t pack as much banana flavour either.

Don’t get me wrong – it’s still a nice banana cake. Just not as great as before. The standards seem to have slipped compared to my previous visits.

My Recommendation

I’d really recommend getting the coffee cake and butter cake on your next visit. But here’s what I actually suggest: buy all three if you don’t get to travel to JB often. Might as well, right? You can store them in the fridge and take your time to eat them anyway.

Timing Your Visit Right

Even 9.30am proved too late for coffee cake on my Friday visit. The locals clearly know something we don’t about optimal timing. Plan to arrive earlier, especially for their star performers.

The bakery’s cult following among food lovers means popular items disappear fast. Their reputation precedes them for good reason.

Final Verdict

Despite price increases, this JB institution remains worth the journey. The coffee cake alone justifies the trip, and that butter cake surprised me enough to earn repeat visits.

The price list reflects reality – everything costs more now, but some experiences remain priceless for serious cake enthusiasts crossing borders for exceptional bakes.
