Pan Pacific Singapore Review: The Hotel That Stole My Heart

Pan Pacific Singapore has officially set a new benchmark for my staycation adventures, and I’m thrilled to share why this Marina Bay gem left me completely smitten. Having explored numerous staycation spots over the past few years, I can confidently say that our stay at Pan Pacific Singapore stands out as the most memorable. In fact, as I type this, I’ve already told my husband that we have to book another two-night stay here next year after our year-end Australia and cruise holidays. Woohoo!

Though I’m not new to Pan Pacific Singapore—I’ve been here for business more than a decade ago during my days of being an event and conference organiser, as well as for meals—it was my first proper staycation experience at this hotel. Being a GHA Discovery Titanium member added some lovely perks to our stay, including early check-in, late check-out, and a complimentary double room upgrade. These little luxuries are something I’ve always raved about in my staycation posts, and they truly elevate the experience.

Location: Convenience at Its Finest

The location wins major points for its super convenient setup because it’s connected to Marina Square, which makes it accessible to get to other places like Suntec City, Millenia Walk and so on. You’re essentially in the heart of Marina Bay with everything within walking distance.

Check-In Process at the VIP & Discovery Lounge

One of the perks of staying at Pan Pacific Singapore as a GHA Discovery Titanium member is the exclusive check-in experience at the VIP & Discovery Lounge. From the moment we arrived, the process was seamless and personalised. The staff who assisted us was exceptionally friendly—also offered us a double room upgrade so we could enjoy access to the Pacific Club Lounge.

Since the Club Rooms hadn’t been renovated yet, the staff gave us a choice: either stick with the newly renovated Premier Marina Bay Room we originally booked, or accept a double upgrade to the older, unrenovated Pacific Club Room. She mentioned that the refurbished Premier Marina Bay Room was much nicer, so we went with that option. The room size was the same anyway, and what really mattered most was having access to the Club Lounge.

The only drawback with this choice was the minor inconvenience of reaching the Pacific Club Lounge. From our room, there was no direct access—we had to head down to the ground floor, switch lift lobbies, and then take another lift up each time we wanted to get there.

Our Room: Premier Marina Bay – Comfort Meets Elegance

We stayed in a Premier Marina Bay Room, and it was the perfect mix of spaciousness, comfort, and luxury. The first thing that struck me was the orientation of the bed that faces the balcony and window – a brilliant design choice that immediately draws your attention to the stunning view outside.

The view from the balcony is absolutely gorgeous – you can see the Marina Bay Sands, Singapore Flyer, and the entire marina skyline stretching out before you.

Start your day with a picture-perfect view.

As night falls, the balcony transforms into the perfect spot to soak in the twinkling city lights.

Room Layout and Design

The floor-to-ceiling windows let in loads of natural light and make the room look bright throughout the day. I really like the whole room setup – there’s a wide writing desk behind the bed and a long couch by the window with a table. This became my favourite spot where I worked on my laptop and chilled on the couch with my iPad most of the time.

Because of the way the furniture were placed, the TV on the side wall just seemed a bit off like it’s not actually strategically positioned for proper TV watching, but it’s not a big deal to us as we normally have the TV on for background sound only.

Minibar Area: All the Essentials

The minibar area impressed with everything you could want:

  • Nespresso machine for proper coffee fixes
  • TWG tea bags for afternoon brewing sessions
  • Lavazza coffee sachets as backup options
  • Kettle and assorted drinkware
  • Mini fridge filled with soft drinks and juices (complimentary and replenished daily!)

Bathroom: Spacious but Room for Improvement

The bathroom is very spacious, with enough space for suitcases and bags to be placed comfortably. There’s a safe big enough for laptops, a hair dryer, and the shower area and WC are properly separated – always a plus in my books.

The toilet bowl made me wish there was an electronic or manual toilet seat bidet – a feature that feels essential for hotels of this calibre.

Three-Way Shower System

The shower area features a three-way shower system with rain, handheld, and adjustable jet options. Unfortunately, the water pressure isn’t the best so you can’t really get the full experience. It’s functional, but not the luxurious shower experience you’d expect.

Jo Loves Bathroom Amenities

The bathroom amenities from Jo Loves are a delightful touch. You get body lotion and handwash at the wash basin area, plus shampoo, conditioner and bath & shower gel at the shower area. The fragrance is consistent across all products – it’s Mango Thai Lime, which smells really zesty and refreshing. Honestly, it makes me crave Thai food whenever I have my shower!

They provide toothbrushes, toothpaste, vanity kit, shower cap, and everything else you need, so you don’t really need to bring toiletries when you come here to stay.

In the wardrobe, there are bathrobes, ironing board and iron, with ample hanging space and hangers to organise your clothes properly.

One quirk: no bottles of drinking water are provided. Instead, there’s a tap for filtered drinking water next to the bathroom wash basin – more environmentally friendly!

The aircon can go down to 18.5 degrees Celsius, though I don’t think it actually gets that cold in reality. Still, the air conditioning keeps the room comfortable throughout your stay.

Pacific Club Lounge: The Real Star of the Show

The Pacific Club Lounge is located right at the top of the hotel on level 38 with breathtaking 360-degree views of Marina Bay, the South China Sea and the city skyline. This alone makes the club room upgrade worthwhile.

Every seat offers a new perspective — discover a different side of the city no matter where you sit.

Club lounge privileges included champagne breakfast, afternoon tea, evening cocktails, along with all-day coffee, tea and soft drinks.

Afternoon Tea: Beyond Expectations

Afternoon tea runs from 3pm to 5pm, and I was only expecting a few items for tea but it turned out to be a full selection of savouries and sweets. Every day the menu rotates so you get to try different things daily, and I must say the standard and quality of the food is really high.

You probably know that Pan Pacific Singapore houses an award-winning Cantonese restaurant, Hai Tien Lo, so it’s no surprise that they nailed the Cantonese and Chinese delights.

Honestly, this is one of the best afternoon teas I’ve ever had in a hotel club lounge.

Evening Cocktails: Simply Spectacular

Evening cocktails run from 6pm to 8pm. After you finish your afternoon tea, an hour later, you can come back again for the evening cocktails – that’s why if you intend to come for both sessions back to back, you really must pace yourself because the evening cocktails are not to be missed!

I’m not kidding when I say this is the BEST evening cocktails I’ve had in a hotel club lounge. The service is simply impeccable – staff members carry themselves really well, they’re very attentive and professional in a way that they’re genuinely helpful. They communicate well, making sure they’re taking care of you with warmth that’s not superficial. It really makes me feel very welcome and well taken care of. Honestly, such experiences are often missing in many top hotels’ club lounges.

It makes me look forward to coming back to the lounge. Plus the lounge is so spacious with plenty of seating – you can choose a table by the window and enjoy great food and views at the same time.

Premium Ingredients That Impress

The quality of the ingredients in the food offered during afternoon tea and evening cocktail impressed me the most. Given that these days everything is inflated and expensive, the hotel doesn’t skimp on quality ingredients. I love seafood and was thrilled that there were always dishes made with seafood, whether it’s a noodle dish, salad or dim sum item.

Think big fresh crunchy prawns, huge meaty scallops, juicy crab meat, mussels, squids and more. There were also smoked salmon, Parma ham, assorted cheeses, macarons and so much more. Taste-wise, more hits than misses. Only problem – do you have the stomach space to fit everything in, especially after the afternoon tea beforehand!

Oh, and there’s a great selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. Their cocktails are really pretty and taste fantastic too.

Studio 26: Your Private Sanctuary

Complimentary access to Studio 26 on level 26 gives you a dedicated self-service space offering all-day refreshments of coffee, tea, and soft drinks. It’s an alternative quiet space to have a little private moment or to work – no staff is manning this space, you just need to use your room card to access it.

You get little snacks provided like cookies, kueh lapis, and croissants. It’s perfect when you need some quiet time away from the bustle of the main lounge areas.

Breakfast at Edge: A Feast to Remember

We didn’t go for the champagne breakfast at the Pacific Club Lounge during our stay. Instead, we went down to Edge for the full buffet breakfast experience, and what a spread it was!

The buffet spread mixes local and Asian flavours with international classics. Some highlights that stood out to me were:

Kaya Butter Toast with Soft-Boiled Eggs: My goodness, their version could easily rival those popular brands out there! Their kaya butter toast is really one of the best I’ve had – and that’s saying something in Singapore.

Eggs Benedict: Done right with proper technique

Streaky Pork Bacon: A must-have for me, and they deliver crispy strips every time.

Hash Browns: Always fresh, crispy, crunchy and never soggy – the way hash browns should be served.

You Tiao and Soy Bean Milk: Authentic Chinese breakfast pairing done properly.

Indian Section: Not bad at all – had some pancake-like thing with dhal that was absolutely delicious!

It’s impossible to feature everything because the spread is just too huge. There’s congee, dim sum, Japanese options, nasi lemak, and the list just goes on and on. There’s definitely something for everyone at this extensive buffet.

Hotel Facilities Overview

Level 4 brings together fitness, relaxation, and indulgence with its pool, gym, and spa.

Lounge, relax, and let the day drift by the poolside.

A 24-hour fitness centre to keep your routine on track.

Keeping the kids entertained in the play area.

Service Standards That Actually Matter

Throughout our stay, the service at Pan Pacific Singapore consistently exceeded expectations. Every staff interaction felt genuine rather than scripted. From the VIP check-in experience to the attentive lounge service, every team member demonstrated real care for guest satisfaction.

Final Thoughts: Why I’m Already Planning My Next Stay

After this staycation, it’s safe to say that Pan Pacific Singapore has officially become my go-to staycation hotel. From the luxurious room to the attentive service and delightful food offerings, every aspect of our stay was thoughtfully curated for comfort and enjoyment. I feel spoilt, seriously. And I felt like I put on a few pounds from just a two-night stay here!

If you’re looking for a memorable staycation in Singapore, whether for a special occasion or just a weekend escape, Pan Pacific Singapore checks all the boxes. The combination of prime Marina Bay location, world-class facilities, exceptional dining experiences, and genuinely caring service creates something special.

The value proposition makes sense too. When you factor in all the included amenities – especially that incredible Pacific Club Lounge experience – you’re getting proper luxury that justifies the premium rates.

And yes, I’ll be back – two nights next year, mark my words! 😉
