PARKROYAL Langkawi Resort was our home for six glorious nights, and I’m excited to share all the details about this relatively new property that opened in February 2023. Whenever hubby signs up for his Ironman triathlon in any destination, I naturally take charge of the accommodation hunt—and this trip was no exception.
At the time of writing, I checked Expedia for October 2025 rates, and the Deluxe Ocean View Room is listed at around S$466 per night (taxes included). Of course, prices vary depending on travel dates and booking platforms, so it’s always worth comparing before you lock anything in.
Getting There and Where It Sits
PARKROYAL Langkawi Resort sits 15 minutes from Langkawi International Airport. Grab rides work perfectly here. The resort sits on Pantai Tengah, right at the southern tip of the island. Away from the tourist madness but not isolated. That sweet spot where you get peace without feeling stranded.
Now this is a true beachfront resort — waking up to beautiful sunrises and ending the day with breathtaking sunsets.
Right across the road, there’s Gecko Mini Market. Snacks, ice cream, toiletries, basic meds, sunblock – whatever you forgot, they’ve got it. Few eateries nearby too. When you’re feeling lazy, Grab food delivery solves dinner. Technology makes location concerns pretty much obsolete, really.
First Impressions of PARKROYAL Langkawi
Walking into PARKROYAL Langkawi Resort matched the online photos perfectly. Modern, clean lines, proper resort vibes. The layout gives you open spaces everywhere. High ceilings, pool wrapping around the outdoor breakfast area, sky visible from most angles.
They’ve got this ceiling-suspended bed loaded with cushions in the common area. Bar tables with high chairs overlook the swimming pool and sea – we worked on our laptops there when we wanted a change of scenery and some people-watching.
Check-in ran smooth. Staff were genuinely friendly and helpful, not the robotic kind of polite. We reached our room quickly.
The Deluxe Ocean View Room
Space. So. Much. Space. The Deluxe Ocean View Room at PARKROYAL Langkawi Resort gave us room to breathe. Hubby’s triathlon bike, luggage sprawled everywhere, bike box taking up floor space – still had plenty of walking room.
Woody decor creates this cosy atmosphere. Some mornings, we just wanted to stay in bed. The mattress hits that perfect firmness level. Pillows support your neck properly. Every night delivered solid sleep. Aircon pumps out seriously cold air, exactly how we like it.
Corner couch and table became my laptop workstation. Wi-Fi ran fast and stable throughout our stay. No connection drops, no buffering nonsense.
The Balcony
Glass doors slide open to reveal another spacious area. The sea view from here starts every morning right. Therapeutic doesn’t quite capture it, but that’s the closest word. Coffee on the balcony watching the water became our routine.
Bathroom Setup
PARKROYAL Langkawi Resort doesn’t skimp on bathroom space either. Bathtub, separate toilet, separate shower area. Shower pressure deserves its own paragraph – genuinely some of the best pressure I’ve experienced. Strong, consistent, perfect temperature control.
Appelles Apothecary & Lab supplies the toiletries. Shampoo and body wash in the shower. Hair conditioner in tubes by the bathtub. Skin lotion by the sink.
They provide toothbrushes, toothpaste, vanity kit, shaving kit, loofah. Honestly didn’t need to pack much.
Room Amenities
Wardrobe offers ample hanging space. Bathrobes, ironing board, iron, slippers all there. In-room safe fits laptops easily. Dedicated suitcase space. Mini fridge. Complimentary bottled water gets replenished daily. Kettle, instant coffee sachets, Dilmah tea bags. Would’ve loved a Nespresso machine though.
Swimming Pools at PARKROYAL Langkawi
Two pools service different moods. Ground floor hosts the main pool where families with kids gather. Lively, busy, lots of splashing.
Fifth floor infinity sky pool caters to adults only. Quieter vibe up there. Bask in the sun, read a book, float around without dodging pool toys. We alternated between both depending on our energy levels.
Other Facilities
Activity centre stocks table tennis and pool tables. When we weren’t lounging poolside, we’d play a few rounds. Gets competitive quickly.
24-hour fitness centre available for those who actually exercise on holiday. We peeked in once. Just once.
Breakfast at Cassia Restaurant
Breakfast at PARKROYAL Langkawi Resort turns into a bustling marketplace every morning. Packed restaurant, constant buzz of activity. Staff manage the chaos efficiently though, assigning tables without long waits.
The spread covers everything. Western staples, Indian curries and roti canai, Chinese noodles and congee, pastries, etc. Proper variety.
The Nasi Lemak Sambal Station
I normally avoid spicy breakfast food. But here? Nasi lemak every single morning.
Not because the rice itself revolutionises nasi lemak. The sambal selection does that. At least 10 different varieties presented in individual stone mortars:
- Sambal udang (prawn)
- Sambal sotong (squid)
- Sambal tempeh
- Sambal tauhu (tofu)
- Sambal dried squid
- Plus others
Each sambal packs proper kick. Spicy, flavourful, addictive. Best sambal I’ve had at any hotel breakfast buffet in Malaysia. This alone justifies waking up early.
Congee Condiment Paradise
The congee section caught me off guard. Not the congee itself – it’s standard. The condiments though. Most hotels offer maybe five boring options. PARKROYAL Langkawi Resort provides over 30 items. Customise your bowl exactly how you want it. Preserved vegetables, century eggs, fried shallots, various proteins, pickles, herbs. Build your perfect congee.
Yogurt and Desserts
Yogurt selection impressed too. Overnight oats and chia seed pudding in jars. Pre-assembled yogurt cups with cornflakes for crunch, fruit jams for sweetness and tang.
I treated these as daily desserts. Never skipped them.
What Makes PARKROYAL Langkawi Resort Worth It
Six nights flew by. The resort delivers on its promises. Spacious rooms, excellent facilities, genuinely helpful staff, breakfast that keeps you coming back for more. The location works perfectly – quiet enough for proper rest, accessible enough that you’re not stuck.
For couples wanting a mix of relaxation and easy access to the island, PARKROYAL Langkawi Resort hits the mark. The room rate feels justified. No regrets booking here. We actually returned for a second stay in a different room category, but that’s another story.
Would we recommend PARKROYAL Langkawi Resort? Already have, multiple times. Worth every cent.
