Our Second Stay at PARKROYAL Langkawi Resort: A New Room, A New Experience

If you’ve read my earlier post on PARKROYAL Langkawi Resort, you’ll know how much I enjoyed my first stay here. Well, I couldn’t resist coming back again. Instead of repeating the same experience, I decided to switch things up with a different room category – the Premier Ocean View Room. Spoiler: it felt like a whole new getaway.

The check-in process was as welcoming and efficient as always. No fuss, no waiting around, just smooth sailing from lobby to room key.

Room 932: The Layout That Makes All the Difference

We were assigned Room 932, and the setup immediately won me over. It has what feels like a little private entrance to the room. When you enter through the door, there’s a corridor that leads right to the bedroom area.

I always like such layouts because being away from the main door means less disturbances. You can’t hear any action going on at the common corridor outside. That buffer zone makes a genuine difference when you’re trying to sleep in or just want some peace.

Premier Ocean View Room: Even More Spacious

The Premier Ocean View Room is ultra-spacious. In my last post, I kept emphasizing how spacious the Deluxe Ocean View Room was, and this was even bigger, much to our delight.

The room comprised of the king-sized bed and the carpeted living room area with sofa and coffee table. Opposite the sofa, there’s another round table with a lounge chair. It genuinely feels like you have two separate zones – one for sleeping, one for lounging.

Welcome Amenity: The Little Touches Matter

With our Pan Pacific DISCOVERY Titanium membership, we received a welcome amenity from the hotel, nicely presented on the round table.

Fruits, chocolates, nuts and a bottle of chardonnay, chilled in advance for us to enjoy. Very thoughtful touch that sets the tone for the entire stay.

Bathroom Built for Families

The bathroom had a huge standalone tub that was big enough for two adults and two kids. His and her sinks, separate WC and separate shower area. Everything you need without fighting for space.

I won’t go into details of what’s in the room as they are similar to what I had covered in my previous blog post, so I shall let the photos do the talking. But trust me, PARKROYAL Langkawi Resort doesn’t cut corners on room amenities.

Complimentary Mini Bar Stocked Properly

The mini fridge had beer, soft drinks, juice and milk, all complimentary.

The Balcony: Probably the Biggest I’ve Ever Seen

This is probably one of the biggest balconies I’ve ever come across at any resort stay. It’s like a living room at the balcony. Nice to chill there with drinks and watch the sunset.

But it was too hot and humid outside for me, so I still preferred to stay in air-conditioned comfort. Come and think of it, we should have gotten the room with the pool in the balcony instead, haha. Next time!

Sunset Views That Actually Deliver

The view from the balcony has got to be one of the best ever. Especially since Langkawi is located on West Malaysia, the sunset view is simply stunning. The kind that makes you stop mid-conversation and just stare.

Rainy Day at PARKROYAL Langkawi Resort? Still Perfect

Room comfort is definitely top-notch. One of the days it was raining and we just decided to stay-in.

Feels absolutely relaxing still, though not doing much. The space is generous enough that cabin fever never sets in.

Gecko Mini Market: Your Convenient Lifeline

From the main door, on the other side, you can see Gecko Mini Market at the bottom right. I mentioned in my last post that it’s where we get supplies from as it’s conveniently located just opposite from where we are.

Always go there for Magnum ice cream – so super cheap in Malaysia compared to Singapore, haha.

Beach Bean Bags: The Unexpected Evening Highlight

One of the nights, we spotted these giant bean bags placed at the beach, and discovered this new spot to enjoy sea breeze and drinks. It was so relaxing. Could hear sound of waves, very breezy, sand feels powdery on the feet, so comfy to lie on those bean bags.

Quiet and tranquil moment. You look out to the sea and can spot the green lights in the far distance which are actually squid fishing boats which are all in action daily when it turns dark. Never thought watching fishing boats could be so mesmerizing, but here we are.

Breakfast Buffet at Cassia: Why I Wake Up Early

Breakfast buffet at Cassia is always as enjoyable as the first stay we had here. Again, the nasi lemak didn’t disappoint with its array of sambal variations. It’s really the one thing that I look forward to the most at breakfast.

The Teh Tarik That Gets It Right

I forgot to mention the last time that they do a really mean Teh Tarik here too. A little sweet, so normally I would mix with some hot water, but still the perfect concoction and one of the best Teh Tarik I’ve had in Malaysia.

My Daily Breakfast Rotation

The congee with so many condiment choices and the yogurt bowls are my daily must-haves too. You can build a different combination every morning and never get bored.

Last day breakfast, then I realised there were macadamias provided – my favourite nut! Where were these hiding all week?

Why We Keep Coming Back to PARKROYAL Langkawi Resort

Second stay at the same resort within a year, but we still didn’t get tired of it. We always love beach holidays like this – away from tourist crowds and all the city hustle and bustle, and just enjoy some peaceful moments to rejuvenate ourselves.

Will we come back again? Of course. It’s now my top choice of accommodation in Langkawi. We will be back during the next IRONMAN!

What Makes This Resort Work

PARKROYAL Langkawi Resort has nailed the formula. Spacious rooms with thoughtful layouts, breakfast that actually excites you, a quiet beach that stays quiet, and enough space to properly unwind.

The Premier Ocean View Room takes everything good about the Deluxe category and supersizes it. More space, bigger balcony, same excellent location. If you’re considering an upgrade, do it. You won’t regret having that extra room to spread out.

This is the kind of place where doing nothing feels productive. Where you can spend a rainy afternoon in your room and feel perfectly content. Where beach bean bags and squid fishing boat lights count as evening entertainment.

That’s exactly what a proper beach holiday should feel like. No forced itineraries, no FOMO, just genuine relaxation at a resort that understands what travellers actually want. See you next IRONMAN season, PARKROYAL Langkawi Resort.
