My friends and I hung out there regularly because it offered something refreshingly different from the usual burger and fried chicken joints. This American fast food chain serves Mexican fare like tacos, burritos, and quesadillas that felt novel back then. Sadly, Taco Bell exited Singapore completely by 2008.

They offer a variety of sauce sachets for you to help yourself to, including Fire (tangy and spicy, my favourite!), Mild, Mayo, and Ketchup.

Look, this is still fast food. You can’t compare it with proper Mexican restaurants serving authentic cuisine. But when you want fuss-free Mexican flavours at affordable prices, Taco Bell delivers. The food isn’t mind-blowing, but nostalgia makes each visit memorable.
