The St. Regis Singapore Review: Our Anniversary Staycation Experience

I’d been wanting to check out The St. Regis Singapore for quite some time, and I finally got to experience this luxury hotel firsthand during our wedding anniversary staycation. After attending several cocktail receptions and wedding dinners here, I knew the hotel had a solid reputation, but staying overnight would be the real test.

Want to know more? Here’s my honest take on what makes The St. Regis Singapore one of the most coveted luxury hotels in the city. 😉

Prime Location That Ticks All the Right Boxes

The St. Regis Singapore is located on Tanglin Road, just a short walk away from Orchard Road. This location is perfect for anyone who wants the best of both worlds as it’s close enough to Singapore’s shopping paradise but far enough to escape the crowds.

Tanglin Mall is literally a stone’s throw away, which means you’ve got plenty of dining options and a supermarket for any last-minute supplies. The area feels much more tranquil and peaceful than the bustling shopping belt and that’s what I like about it.

Current Rates (as of July 2025): During my research, the lowest rate on Marriott Bonvoy was $484++ per night, which works out to $580.32 after taxes. Not cheap, but you’re paying for the St. Regis experience.

Check-In Experience: Room for Improvement

The St. Regis Singapore markets itself as a luxury brand that attracts high-end clientele, and you’ll easily spot the evidence right at the entrance. We saw a Ferrari and Lamborghini parked outside during our visit. Clearly, this place draws the well-heeled crowd.

However, the check-in experience left much to be desired. The front desk staff member was rather lukewarm and dismissive, lacking the warmth and friendliness you’d expect from a luxury hotel. No smiles, no genuine welcome – definitely not the best first impression for a property of this calibre.

Executive Deluxe Room: Spacious Luxury with Old-World Charm

First Impressions

The moment we stepped into our Executive Deluxe Room, I was impressed by its sheer space. At 52 square metres (560 square feet), this generously sized room is a luxury in itself.

The mini bar area greets you upon entry, complete with a Nespresso machine, coffee pods, kettle, TWG tea bags, and bottled water. As we’d mentioned it was our wedding anniversary during booking, they’d neatly arranged rose petals around the mini bar area. How sweet.

Interior Design and Amenities

The interior design screams old-world charm with modern comforts. Think gold accents, chandeliers, marble surfaces, damask carpeting, and luxurious upholstery. Initially, I thought it looked a bit dated, but the style grew on me. There’s just something so relaxing and cosy about this classic style.

We received chocolate-coated strawberries topped with a ‘Happy Anniversary’ chocolate sign and a handwritten card, on top of the usual welcome box of macarons and chocolates — such a thoughtful touch.

I swear, St. Regis makes the best chocolates — so rich and indulgent, with the finest ingredients. I’ve yet to find hotel chocolates that are as good as these.

Bathroom: Marble Luxury at Its Finest

The marble bathroom truly deserves its own mention. With a separate standalone bathtub (complete with rose petals!) and a spacious shower area, it feels like a private spa. The adjoining walk-in wardrobe offers plenty of room for bags, suitcases, and clothes, while a wall-mounted safe keeps your valuables secure. Bathrobes and slippers are provided too.

The double vanities are perfect for couples. His side includes a shaving kit, while her side features facial cleansing gel. The toiletry selection is comprehensive – everything from toothbrushes, toothpaste, and mouthwash to body lotion, soap bars, a vanity kit, shower cap, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, bath salts, a loofah pad, and extra soap for the tub.

You honestly don’t need to pack toiletries for your stay here – they’ve got everything covered.

St. Regis Butler Service

What truly sets The St. Regis apart from other luxury hotels is its signature Butler Service. Our butler personally introduced himself and welcomed us with a plate of sweet treats. He took our tea order and soon returned with perfectly brewed pots of tea, served with honey and biscuits.

The next morning, he showed up with fresh coffee — now that’s what I call personalised service. The 24-hour butler service takes care of everything, from evening turndown and newspaper delivery to even unpacking and packing your luggage.

Fitness Centre and Spa Facilities

The Fitness Centre, located on Level 2 of The St. Regis Spa, is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. It’s equipped with state-of-the-art strength and cardio machines, free weights, and even body composition analysers to help you track your muscle mass and body fat percentage.

For a relaxing break, head to the Tropical Spa Pool — a refreshing oasis open daily from 7:00 AM to 9:00 PM.

The St. Regis Singapore - Astor Grill

Dining Options to Explore

The Astor Grill, located on the lobby level, doubles as the hotel’s steakhouse and also serves breakfast. We decided to skip it, opting instead to sleep in and enjoy a late brunch elsewhere. For those with a sweet tooth, The Patisserie on Level One tempts with an array of cakes, viennoiseries, and gourmet treats perfect for gifting (or indulging yourself).

Final Verdict

Despite a rather underwhelming check-in, our St. Regis Singapore staycation delivered on most fronts. The spacious Executive Deluxe Room, impeccable butler service, and thoughtful touches throughout made for a truly memorable anniversary celebration.

The butler service alone is worth the splurge — having someone anticipate your needs and deliver such personalised attention makes you feel genuinely special. Coupled with the room’s generous size and luxurious amenities, it’s excellent value compared to many other luxury hotels in Singapore.

Would I come back? Absolutely. The St. Regis Singapore delivers a level of bespoke luxury that’s hard to match elsewhere in the city — just cross your fingers for a smoother check-in next time.
