Huggs Coffee – where you can have Americano & Kopi O

Back at Changi City Point as Hubby wanted to look for new exercise shorts. After a long furious search through almost every sports shop in the mall, Mr Fussy Pants still came out empty-handed, lol. Hence we decided to adjourn for a coffee break before Round 2.?

Normally, we would end up at the usual Starbucks or CBTL, but the ones at Changi City Point weren’t really appealing or conducive for us to work in. So when we spotted Huggs Coffee on Level One, we totally embraced it. *huggs*?

About Huggs Coffee

For those who are unfamiliar with Huggs Coffee, it’s actually a homegrown coffee chain (#supportlocal) that has been in business for 14 years. They used to operate in the CBD area only but had started expanding into the suburbs since last year. Perfect for people who work at home like Hubby and I.

Huggs Coffee, any plans to open an outlet in Punggol?

Huggs Coffee at the former UE Bizhub East is no longer in operation

I recalled there used to be a Huggs Coffee at the former UE Bizhub East (current ESR BizPark) nearby but it had ceased operation and had moved here instead. The cafe was really busy during peak lunch hour as there were many office workers grabbing coffees to go and/or taking coffee breaks. Super noisy too like a marketplace but it became quiet and peaceful again after 2pm+ when all returned to their offices.

Any power point available?

Could only see one on the side by the first table on the left hand side of the entrance i.e. right behind the big ‘huggs coffee’ sign.

Menu

Check out their Food and Beverages menus for their list of offerings.

Besides assorted pastries, muffins and sliced cakes, they also serve light meals/snacks like wraps with a variety of Western or Asian style fillings.

Huggs Coffee has also collaborated with Denzy Gelato to serve up a wide range of handmade gelato. So anytime you need a sugar fix while shopping or need something to perk you up when in a midday slump, you know where to go.

What really caught my interest was Huggs Coffee’s range of beverages that included cafe classics (like Cafe Latte, Cappuccino, etc) and local flavours (Kopi O, Teh C, etc). It’s like killing two birds with one stone. And having the best of both worlds, lol.

Iced Kopi

Sweet but coffee tasted pretty robust. Not acidic too.

Iced Teh C Kosong

Ample tea fragrance. Not acidic. But as the ice melted, it would dilute the concoction as this was kosong without sugar. Next time, I shall request for ‘gau’, lol.

Food was served warm.

Butter Chicken Pie

Pastry was not too thick. Very buttery and crispy. Butter chicken filling was tasty and flavoursome too. Liked that it was very saucy. This was as satisfying as eating butter chicken with naan, haha.

Satay Chicken Wrap

Redolent of satay spices. The filling was combined with satay sauce and there was a nice crunch from the ground peanuts. Wrapper itself was also soft and moist. Tasty!

Final Thoughts

Nice environment to chill in. Good selection of drinks. Great tasting food/snacks. Prices are wallet friendly too. Huggs Coffee is now on my go-to list of coffee chains. I shall be back very soon to try the sweet treats.

Keep calm and drink coffee, peeps!
