Ice Cold Beer @ Emerald Hill

A colleague of mine swore by the chicken wings from Ice Cold Beer and I trusted that her recommendation would be a sound one as she is someone who eats to live and usually doesn’t pay much attention to food in general. We decided to go this very evening for some pub grub and beer so I can include this ever popular pub in my blog. And indeed, it was no disappointment at all.

An American-style pub. Small yet cosy. Busy yet buzzing. It had a lively atmosphere with friendly service staff. It was difficult to find a table even though we checked in at about 7.15pm. But anyway, it was the festive season so I guess anywhere would be busy at this time of the year.

Ice Cold Beer
Potato wedges with garlic mayo ($8.00)
Nicely fried wedges. They were crunchy and meaty. Fresh but not over-cooked. The mayo dip had a nice garlicky taste which made this finger snack so addictive.
Ice Cold Beer
QP pizza ($17.00)
Crispy thin crust with a generous serving of bacon, bell peppers, Roma tomatoes, mozzarella and parmesan cheese. It was not too heavy, definitely one of the best grubs to go with beer.
Ice Cold Beer
Full portion chicken wings ($17.00)
Crispy on the outside and juicy in the inside. You could see steam coming when you take your first bite to show how hot and fresh the wings really are. There is absolutely no need for any sauce or gravy. The wings were well marinated with a light prawn paste (or similar) flavour – so special – I couldn’t quite describe it. Just try it – no regrets for sure!
