Whenever I think of the blackcurrant, Ribena is always the first thing that comes to my mind. Perhaps because the Ribena cordial is what I grew up drinking so it has always been a brand that is so close to heart.
Recently, Ribena has introduced its first non-blackcurrant flavoured drink – Pineapple & Passionfruit Fruit Drink. Like its blackcurrant predecessor, this new ready-to-drink beverage contains real fruit juice that gives us our required daily dose of Vitamin C.
The Ribena Pineapple & Passionfruit Fruit Drink reminds me of summer with its tropical, citrusy flavour. Best served chilled, it is a perfect balance of sweet and sour (overall it’s not saccharine sweet which is good) with the pineapple being the more dominant flavour. It’s also a versatile beverage that you can use to customise and concoct different cocktails or mocktails for any occasions.
Beat the haze and the viciously hot weather in Singapore with my refreshing margarita mocktail recipe in which I’ve also included real pulp from the passionfruit to give that extra boost of vitamins. Great for the whole family to enjoy! 🙂
Summer Margarita Mocktail Recipe
(makes 1 serving)
200ml Ribena Pineapple & Passionfruit Fruit Drink
50ml orange juice
100ml sparkling water
2 limes, halved (reserve 1 half for rubbing the rim of your drinking glass)
pulp & juice from 1 ripe passionfruit
1 wedge pineapple as garnish
1. Rub the rim of the drinking glass with 1 half of lime. Dip rim in sea salt and set aside.
2. Add the Ribena fruit drink, orange juice, sparkling water, juice from 3 halves of lime, passionfruit pulp and ice cubes into a cocktail shaker. Shake to combine.
3. Pour the concoction into the salt-rimmed glass. Garnish with a wedge of pineapple and serve.
