S’Patisserie in Hanoi – Great atmosphere and delicious red velvet cake

S'Patisserie

We were in the mood for chilling out in a cafe and decided to head to S’Patisserie which we stumbled upon the other day while walking to Trang Tien Plaza.

S’Patisserie
17-19 Hang Khay
Hoan Kiem, Hanoi
Vietnam

It’s located across the road from the southern end of Hoan Kiem Lake in the Old Quarter.

We happened to be here during their Happy Hour (4pm-6pm) so there was a 1-for-1 cake deal and drinks were 10% off. Sweet.

I asked the staff if they had non-sweet speciality tea options (like the Tropical Tea or Mint Tea Punch) but unfortunately they were all the sugary kinds. I was then recommended to take a standard iced tea which they could serve without sugar and I chose my usual Mint Tea. Loved how my tea was served in a cocktail glass with a cherry on top – so pretty.

Hubby had a hot Hazelnut Tea which tasted quite sweet as honey/sugar was pre-added so you’d have to let the staff know if you don’t want it. Couldn’t taste any hazelnut flavour. It was more like a honey green tea but it was still quite a fragrant brew.

The Red Velvet Cake was one of the best I ever had. It was very moist and the cream cheese was very well-balanced, not overly cheesy or tangy.

S'Patisserie

The Chocolate Brownie was equally delicious – moist, nutty (bits of chopped nuts in it) and not overly sweet.

We sat on the table by the entrance door and watched the world go by. Could also see Hoan Kiem Lake in the distance. Definitely had a relaxing chill-out time here.

Even though S’Patisserie was a cafe in a hotel (Silk Path Hotel Hanoi), the whole bill cost us only 141,000 VND (SGD8.90) after taxes & service charge which was very reasonable for a lovely cafe like this.

Service was impeccable. The lady who served us was all smiles, very polite & friendly – she even came over to our table to ask what we thought of their cakes. They were of course delicious. If you intend to go on a cafe-hopping adventure while in Hanoi, make sure this place is in your list. 😉
