A family friend recommended me this rojak stall at Gourmet Paradise Food Court in the basement of the Toa Payoh HDB Hub. As I came down from the escalator, I was surprised to see a long (and probably the only one in the entire food court) queue at the stall even though it was a weekday late afternoon.

The rojak comes in different portions in prices of $2.50, $3.00, $4.00 or $5.00. It was a very generous portion at $3.00. Full of fresh and crunchy ingredients like the usual turnip, cucumbers, pineapples and tau pok but the special finds were the cuttlefish, kang kong and extra crispy you tiao (dough fritters). The rojak was like a peanut capped mountain! I was watching the chef closely as he was preparing the rojak. The peanuts weren’t sprinkled, they were poured all over the rojak in two quick swipes and I went whoa! The rojak dressing was plentiful and flavourful which made this a really outstanding snack!
