Burgs by Project Warung – Gourmet Burgers at Wallet-Friendly Prices

We had been to Burgs by Project Warung a few times when they were still located at Golden Mile Food Centre. However they had closed their stall there as they would be relocating to Timbre+ this month. Sad news indeed as Golden Mile was nearer to us and we hardly (almost never) go to Chai Chee or Ayer Rajah where their two outlets are. So if you live or work near these two areas, you’re in luck especially if you adore burgers because Burgs does serve up some awesome burgers that won’t burn a hole in your pocket.

During my last visit to Burgs, I noticed that the menu was different from what we saw before and we were told by one of their staff that they would refresh their menu every 4 months so there would always be something new to try.

In this post, I will just share some of the burgers we had tried at Burgs but you may or may not find the same burgers at their two outlets at the moment. Just so you know.

For the full menu at each respective outlet, check out their website https://www.projectwarung.com/burgsmenu.

This scrumptious feast only cost us S$20 or so (excluding the sugar cane juice that we got from another stall). Totally worth it!

Their Chicken Wings were surprisingly good. Nicely fried to a crisp. Even though we did not immediately eat them and left some till the end to polish up, they were still crispy! The meat on the inside was also moist and juicy. I could really eat these wings on their own without any sauce as the sauce was quite salty and overpowering. Probably a little honey would balance that up.

Before I go on to describe the burgers I had, I must highlight that one of the reasons why I like Burgs burgers is that they make their own burger buns. The buns are similar to dinner rolls. Pillowy with a slight chew. Not the airy kind of soft buns. And it tastes like brioche. 😀

Seoul Fried Chicken Burger

The Seoul Fried Chicken Burger came with a thick slab of chicken dark meat that was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. Quite a mess to dig into this burger because the accompanying coleslaw was rather wet and it would just keep dripping liquid. But who cares when it’s such a delicious mess? Lol!

Ebi Prawn Burger

Thought the Ebi burger would come with a prawn patty but no, it came with two pieces of battered prawns. The batter coating was very thick and there was little meat in it as the prawns were small in size. Hence this was somewhat lacking in texture. Sauce was too sweet too.

Classic Cheeseburger

Their Classic Cheeseburger was my favourite of all. Beef patty was moist and juicy, with a nice pinkish middle. There were also green chillies and caramelised onions which really added extra oomph to the burger.

Every burger ordered came with a handful of fries that were pretty awesome too. Possibly fresh cut fries, not those out of a packet. They were slightly thick, crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. Nicely seasoned too.

And the best part? None of their burgers is more than $7 (for single patty). What??!! 😯

So yes, if you haven’t had a Burgs burger yet, you’re really missing out. Substantial portions. Incredible prices. Delicious buns. Comforting meal. What are you guys waiting for? 😆
