While I don’t really consume a lot of soft drinks, I do like to use them in my cooking. This Coca-Cola Pork Ribs Recipe is super easy to make. Basically, Coca-Cola is the sole formula for the sauce so except for a simple marination of the pork ribs, there is absolutely no need for further seasoning.
One thing to take note of however, is to make sure the sauce doesn’t burn because it will get more syrupy and sticky as it simmers away.
This recipe works with chicken too if you do not eat pork. Check out my Coca-Cola Chicken Recipe.
Coca-Cola Pork Ribs Recipe
Ingredients (serves 3-4 as one of few side dishes)
500g spare pork ribs
1 tsp dark soy sauce
2 tsp light soy sauce
2 tsp sesame oil
2 tsp sunflower oil
chopped spring onions as garnish
1. Marinate the pork ribs with dark soy sauce, light soy sauce and sesame oil. Chill in fridge for a few hours. Alternatively, you can prepare this the night before.
2. Heat oil in pan and lightly brown the pork ribs. Pour in the Coca-Cola and bring to a boil. 3. Reduce heat, put the lid on and simmer the pork ribs for 35-40 minutes till the Coca-Cola reduces to a syrupy gravy.
4. Garnish with spring onions and serve.
