Happy New Year

happynewyear

How time flies! It’s time to get used to changing the last digit of the year on dates again.

2013 seems to be a rather short year for me. Probably because it had been eventful so time just passed more quickly.

Despite the bad times and illnesses, I am proud of myself for surviving through another emotional year with strength and tenacity. Of course, I wouldn’t have done it without my husband who has stood by me, rain or shine.

Now is a good time to reflect on what had happened in the past year, to show gratitude to people who have loved and cared for us, to put things in perspective and to set attainable goals in the new year just so we have something to look forward to.

I often hear people lamenting that it is a waste of time to set new year resolutions because they are never carried out or achieved. I used to think like this too but now I just feel the process of setting objectives as well as bearing that hope and wish to want to achieve them is already a very positive way to challenge ourselves. At the end of the day, it’s not the result that really matters.

To my husband: Thank you for being part of my life, for your tremendous understanding and for not letting go of my hand especially during my emotional moments but I will get well so you don’t have to worry about me constantly.

To my god-ma: Thank you for being the best friend anyone can have. You are truly a remarkable woman and a wonderful mother. You taught me how precious life is because we exist for people who love & care about us and will miss us if we are gone.

To my friends: Thank you for your love, care and concern that make my life feel complete. All your kind words and gestures, support and encouragement have brought me immense comfort and laughter every time.

To my blog readers: Thank you for sparing time to stop by and I hope I haven’t bore you with my writings.

To all foodies out there: Eat, drink and be merry is the philosophy of life! So eat well and live well!

Farewell to those unhappy moments and unpleasant memories.

In the new year, I hope to visit all the new food places on my list (it’s getting long!), experiment with more new recipes and cooking techniques, polish up my photography skills, sleep early, drink more water, lose weight and keep fit, cry less and laugh more, be positive and be happy.

Happy new year to all! May your every day in the new year be filled with nice food, good company, laughter and cheers!
