Remember the new suitcase we bought from D.KELLY Asakusa? Well, it didn’t stay empty for long. We wheeled it all the way to Tokyo Station and used it as our personal shopping trolley, stuffing it with every souvenir and snack on our list. Haha, that’s the whole point of buying an extra suitcase, right? I’ll share my full shopping haul and my Tokyo must-buys in a separate post, so stay tuned!
After all that shopping, we headed outside to hunt for lunch. That’s when we spotted Shake Shack Tokyo International Forum outlet. We’d been in Japan for a few weeks by then, and honestly, we were already craving something non-Japanese. So Shake Shack? Total no-brainer.
Lunch at Shake Shack Tokyo International Forum
We walked in at 12:45pm, right in the middle of lunch hour. I expected a crowd, but the place wasn’t busy at all. Score!

What We Ordered at Shake Shack Tokyo
SmokeShack Double
This is my absolute favourite at Shake Shack, every single time. If you love bacon as much as I do, what’s not to like? The applewood-smoked bacon adds that extra smokiness to each bite, and the double patties give you a much more satisfying, meaty mouthful.
The patties taste properly meaty too, not the overly processed kind you get at McD’s. Savoury beef, smoky bacon and a nice kick from the cherry peppers. Great flavour balance! The buns? Soft and pillowy, not dense or dry at all.
Shack Stack
This one comes with a beef patty and a deep-fried, cheese-stuffed portobello mushroom. The mushroom is thick and juicy, and it gives you a nice contrast in texture against the meaty beef patty. If you enjoy an earthy mushroom in your cheeseburger, you’ll like this one.
Cheese Fries (Regular)
Crinkle-cut fries drowned in melted cheese. The cheese has that melted processed-cheese texture. It’s somewhat cheesy, but the flavour is quite mild. Credit to the fries though. They stayed very crispy even after we left them for a while. Honestly, the cheese didn’t change my life. I’d go plain next time.
Strawberry Milkshake (Small)
Thick like ice cream! It made the perfect dessert to end our meal.
Fresh Lemonade
Very lemony, but still a little on the sweet side for me. That said, it was still pretty refreshing.
Is Shake Shack Tokyo Worth It?
Our whole meal came up to about SGD47 for the two of us. That’s more or less what we’d normally pay at Shake Shack Singapore.
But at least Shake Shack always satisfies, no matter which outlet we visit around the world. The quality of their burgers stays super consistent, and Tokyo was no exception.
So if you happen to be near Tokyo Station and craving a burger, you know where to go. Shake Shack Tokyo won’t let you down!
Shake Shack has outlets all over Japan, so hop over to the Shake Shack Japan website to find one near you!
