Tomoro Coffee caught my attention during one of those random mall wandering sessions when my hubby and I needed somewhere to rest our tired legs at Novena Square 2. What started as a quick pit stop turned into a proper coffee discovery that’s got me planning my next visit already.
Indonesian Coffee Chains Taking Over Singapore
Tomoro Coffee joined the Indonesian coffee invasion that’s been happening across Singapore these past two years. Walk through any mall and you’ll likely spot chains like Kenangan Coffee and Fore Coffee.
What makes Indonesian coffee special? They actually grow the beans there, with each region producing completely different flavour profiles. My hubby and I learned this during our Bali holidays – we always pack extra luggage space because their local coffee beans taste incredible compared to what we get here.
Tomoro Coffee uses 100% Arabica beans, which explains why their brews pack such a punch.
Where to Find Tomoro Coffee Outlets
Tomoro Coffee has nine locations across Singapore:
- The LINQ @ Beauty World
- Sengkang Grand Mall
- The Woodgrove (Woodlands)
- NUS Hon Sui Sen Memorial Library
- Paya Lebar Quarter – PLQ 3
- Novena Square 2
- NUH Zone C/D – Kent Ridge Wing
- Khoo Teck Puat Hospital (Yishun)
- ICON Link@ClubStreet
Novena Square 2 Layout and Ambience
The Tomoro Coffee outlet at Novena Square 2 sits on Level One. Don’t expect a sprawling cafe space – seating is limited to a few tables right in front of the counter. Walk towards the back facing the Concierge Counter and you’ll discover additional seating that some people seem to miss.
The whole setup feels more like a grab-and-go spot than a lingering cafe.
What We Ordered at Tomoro Coffee
Caffe Mocha Frappe ($6.50/Large)
My husband went for the Caffe Mocha Frappe with whole milk. The drink delivered a strong coffee taste without overwhelming sweetness – exactly what good coffee should be. The balance between chocolate and coffee flavours worked beautifully.
The frappe texture was smooth and properly blended. At $6.50 for a large, the pricing feels reasonable considering Singapore’s coffee prices generally.
Strawberry Jasmine Smoothie ($6.50/Large)
I opted for the Strawberry Jasmine Smoothie because I wanted something cold and refreshing. This drink surprised me with its complexity – the bottom portion leaned sweet whilst the top delivered a tangy punch that balanced everything perfectly.
The overall experience felt like sipping a sophisticated slushie infused with tea. What impressed me most was tasting actual strawberry “seeds” throughout the smoothie, confirming they use fresh strawberries rather than artificial syrups or flavourings.
Menu Variety and Customisation Options
Tomoro Coffee’s menu caught my eye with its interesting variety and reasonable pricing. They have customisation options available too. You can choose your preferred milk type & syrup, add toppings, and modify sweetness levels to suit your taste preferences.
And if you’re peckish, you can grab something from their selection of pastries, wraps, muffins and cakes.
Final Verdict: Worth the Visit
It’s refreshing to see Indonesian coffee chains like Tomoro Coffee jazzing up Singapore’s coffee scene – we definitely need more variety beyond the usual suspects. The authentic flavours and fresh ingredients make a real difference, plus their multiple locations are super convenient for a quick caffeine fix. I’m already planning my return visit to work through their bestsellers menu because honestly, good coffee at reasonable prices is always worth exploring. 😉
