Everything with Fries (EwF) @ Orchard Central (Revisited)

Everything with Fries (EwF) is probably one of my few preferred fast food outlets (besides Mackey-D’s) as it serves up some really decent burgers and fries. Plus its outlet at Orchard Central is quite a nice place to chill out in with friends.

Skinny Wings

Every piece of the skinny wing is half a mid-joint section of a chicken wing and is deep fried to golden brown with a crunch. While these are really crispy and not grossly greasy, they aren’t spectacular as there’s not much of a flavour.

Har Jeong Kai Burger

The burger on my number 1 spot would have to be this. I had blogged about it a few years back (read the post here) and the burger still doesn’t disappoint today. The monstrous slab of chicken with a subtle aroma of prawn paste is absolutely succulent, moist and juicy and is freshly deep fried upon order so the burger arrives hot to your table. The bun is still so soft and fluffy just like a little pillow. The fries are also freshly fried to crisp and then sprinkled with a seasoning powder of your choice. Choose from Garlic, Sour Cream & Onion, Salt & Vinegar or Curry (shiok!) or simply opt for the au naturel Original which is just as good.

Cha Siu Burger

This is the husband’s must-order every time he is here. A thick slab of tender, juicy slow-cooked BBQ pork that tears off so easily with each bite between slightly chewy ‘McMuffin-style’ buns. This is another winner! The only downside is that the seemingly shoulder-cut pork patty is rather fatty (that’s why it is really moist).

Pork Katsu Sandwich

Pork cutlet coated with panko breadcrumbs and deep fried to a crisp. I am impressed that the exterior isn’t overly greasy and the meat isn’t dry or old at all too. And what I really like is that the pork cutlet is so much bigger in size than the sandwich buns that it makes it quite a joy (and treat) to nibble the cutlet around before you bite into the bread.

Every set meal comes with a tiny dollop of coleslaw which is so small that it doesn’t even appear in any of my above pictures. Yes, that’s how tiny it is. I just wish they could be more generous with the coleslaw serving and if need be, just reduce the fries (to make up for the coleslaw – not like shredded cabbage costs that much!) as it’s too big a pile anyway.

Overall, this burger joint has my two thumbs up as always. If you like burgers with an Asian twist, this is it. Worth every penny, worth every calories. Eat, drink and be merry!
