A Shopper’s Delight: Exploring Grand Lucky Supermarket in Bali

As someone who loves to explore new places, I always make it a priority to dive into the local culture wherever I go. So, when I arrived in beautiful Bali, one of the first things on my list was to visit the nearby supermarkets. I had heard great things about Pepito Supermarket, and since it was conveniently located near the airport, it seemed like the perfect place to start. However, I have to admit, I was taken aback by the higher prices since it was a high-end supermarket. It made me rethink my shopping list and focus only on the essential items I needed.

But my curiosity didn’t stop there. I wanted to see what else Bali had to offer, so I decided to check out Grand Lucky Supermarket in Kuta. My intention was not only to find some tasty snacks for myself but also to pick up unique food gifts for my loved ones back home. As I stepped into the supermarket, I was pleasantly surprised by the vast array of products they had to offer. It felt like a treasure trove of goodies, and to top it off, the prices were much more reasonable compared to the previous store I visited. I couldn’t help myself but fill my basket with an assortment of fantastic goodies to bring back with me. It turned out to be an enjoyable and exciting experience to explore a different supermarket in a new place.

Location

Grand Lucky Supermarket is conveniently situated in the heart of Bali’s vibrant shopping district. It’s incredibly easy to reach by taxi, making it a perfect pit stop during your shopping spree. What’s even better is that it’s surrounded by many other popular shopping destinations, giving you the chance to explore and discover more hidden gems in the area.

Prices

As for the prices, let me clarify that I haven’t had the chance to visit every supermarket in Bali. However, what struck me about Grand Lucky Supermarket was the diverse crowd of locals who were doing their regular shopping there. It gave me the impression that the prices were reasonable and within reach for the everyday shopper. Of course, prices may vary depending on your specific needs and preferences, but overall, I found the prices to be quite reasonable during my visit.

Let’s see what we can find in there!

If you’re feeling hungry while shopping, you can check out the eatery inside the supermarket that serves Hainanese chicken rice.

Grand Lucky Supermarket

There’s also a bakery section, where you can find a variety of cakes and pastries to satisfy your sweet tooth.

As with any good supermarket, Grand Lucky has an extensive range of products available, including both local and international brands.

Grand Lucky Supermarket

I loved the selection of cut fruits, dried fruits, and fruit juices for healthy snacking. The pre-packaged cups of cut fruits also make it easy to grab a healthy snack on the go. And best of all, everything looked fresh and delicious!

I was amazed to see a huge avocado for the first time!

Grand Lucky Supermarket

The supermarket had durians available for purchase, but only the Monthong variety. It seemed to be quite popular with tourists, as I saw several of them buying it.

Grand Lucky Supermarket

One of the main reasons I visited Grand Lucky Supermarket was to purchase Ellips haircare products. I’m a big fan of their range of hair vitamins and hair masks, especially since I spend a lot of time at the beach and in the swimming pool while in Bali. All that sun exposure can really damage my hair, but Ellips products help repair it and make it easy to comb through.

What’s more, these products are super affordable and just as effective as more expensive brands. So if you’re looking for quality haircare products that won’t break the bank, be sure to check out Ellips.

Grand Lucky Supermarket

Impressive selection of instant noodles, with countless brands available in individual portions so you can mix and match and try different ones.

They also had a pretty good selection of chocolates.

Here’s what I ended up buying:

Grand Lucky Supermarket

Tubes of hair mask for home use and individual packs of hair mask and hair vitamins for travelling.

These Silver Queen chocolates had a milky and creamy taste, but were a bit on the sweeter side.

I also found a Cheese Cream flavour of Hello Panda that I couldn’t find anywhere else. They were so good that I regretted not buying more!

Grand Lucky Supermarket

The Matahari Kacang peanuts looked like regular peanuts, but they had a more crispy texture and a nice garlicky flavour. Highly recommend!

I really enjoyed Pop Mie’s mini cups as they make for a great snack option when you’re feeling peckish but don’t want to eat too much, especially late at night. All of the flavours were delicious too!

For those who love to cook, there’s a good selection of cooking pastes and spices that you can bring home to get a taste of Bali.

And if you’re a fan of tempeh, don’t miss out on the tempeh snacks! They are so addictive!

Grand Lucky Supermarket

OMG, this popcorn brand is one of the best I’ve ever had! I can’t decide which of the two flavours is better because I like them both. If you’re a fan of popcorn, you definitely have to give this a try!

This Cap Panda Bird Nest Drink is delicious! It has a taste that reminds me of the bird nest drinks we used to have in the 80s. I love Bundaberg Root Beer but this Creaming Soda tastes like cough syrup, unfortunately. Haha!

Conclusion

In conclusion, the Grand Lucky Supermarket is a must-visit destination for anyone who loves to shop. Its range of products, reasonable prices, and pleasant shopping experience make it a great destination for both locals and tourists alike. If you’re in Bali and looking for a place to stock up on groceries or try some unique snacks, be sure to visit the Grand Lucky Supermarket. You won’t be disappointed. 🙂
