After a not-so-satisfying thunder tea rice from Traditional Hakka Rice, my friend and I decided to share a pad thai from Issan Thai Food which had a pretty long queue.
Be prepared to wait as it took us at least 20 minutes before it was our turn to order and another 10 minutes for our food to be ready but we didn’t mind since we used the time to catch up anyway.
The pad thai ($4) didn’t have much ingredients except two prawns with tails on, some beancurd, egg and beansprouts but I loved the wok hei (wok fragrance) on the rice noodles that not many other pad thais had. The flavour of the pad thai was also dynamite – sweet, sour, spicy and savoury – very robust and flavoursome. No doubt this was a good plate of pad thai but to wait up to half an hour for this was still quite a stretch. Next time, I’d come by earlier to try their signature green curry and tom yum soup.
