I really like the convenience of having food kiosks at MRT stations that have been sprouting up in busy suburban towns all over the island these days so grabbing a bite while commuting to & from school or work is simply easy-peasy.
When I was at Woodlands earlier, I was just impressed by the long queue outside this sushi take-out probably because of its wallet-friendly prices of 50 cents each piece which is what makes this a hit with its customers. There is a wide variety of different flavours to choose from too. You can either customise your own lunch box with your preferred selections or you can choose from their pre-fixed boxes of assorted sushi.
And if you find this take-out’s logo or branding somewhat familiar, yes, it is actually a take-away outlet under the Sushi Express Group that serves up affordable sushi at $1.50++ per plate at its most popular Citylink Mall outlet.
This box of 10 assorted sushi costs only $5.00. What’s better than this? It’s even cheaper than the ones we get from supermarkets. Everything tastes fresh. The quality of the salmon may be mediocre as compared to restaurants’ but is decent enough for a satisfying meal. The only downside is in the rice which I feel could do with a little more rice vinegar. It just needs that extra touch of seasoning to give it a richer flavour.
