When I first received the Vaseline Healthy White Perfect 10 Whitening & Anti-Aging Lotion product sample, I then wondered if the lotion was meant for the face, body or both as it wasn’t explicitly mentioned anywhere.
Vaseline is known for its body care products so I assume this is from the body care range as well but with its 10 in 1 skin benefits, you’d probably be tempted to pat a dollop of it on your face too. That’s what I did.
This product contains AHA, Vitamin B3 & Pro-Retinol and addresses 10 skin concerns as follows –
1. Visible Skin Lightening
2. Even-Tone Restoration
3. UVA & UVB Protection
4. Dark Spot Reduction
5. Radiance Boost
6. Skin Feels Firms & Tight
7. Visibly Reduces Fine Lines
8. Skin Renewal
9. Intense Moisturization
10. Deep Nourishment (within epidermis layer)
A brief look at the properties of the 3 main ingredients –
a) AHA (Alpha Hydroxy Acid) helps reduce wrinkles and signs of aging.
b) Vitamin B3 has anti-inflammatory properties and protects the skin from UV damage.
c) Pro-Retinol is a powerful anti-oxidant that can help soften skin, boost collagen production and increases elasticity of skin.
Sounds amazing isn’t it?
I have tried the product for about 2 weeks now (applied once daily, sometimes twice) and here’s my verdict.
I applied the lotion over my neck, collar bone area, upper arms, elbows, back of hand and face. It felt a bit warm on the skin within 2 minutes of application but the feeling went away after 15 minutes or so. There was mild redness on neck and collar bone area and skin felt a little itchy.
I noticed the dark coloured sun spots on my left high cheek had faded very slightly. Plus, my entire face had a pinkish, rosy glow. My husband said I looked as though I just came back from a run.
The skin around my chin and neck felt rough with enlarged pores and bumps. Skin felt warm to the touch.
The skin on both cheeks had peeled very slightly, more like surface dead skin being sloughed off.
No more peeling of skin. Skin felt supple, soft and smooth.
Sun spots on left high cheek were further reduced in shade. Sun spots on right high cheek were slightly fading too, so were a few dark spots on my left hand.
Face looked more even-toned. Even though the pigmentation did not fully disappear, they had faded quite significantly.
Helps achieve even toned skin
Makes pigmentation less visible
Makes skin feel smooth and soft
Gives skin a rosy, healthy glow
Skin doesn’t feel dry the next day even if sleeping in air-conditioned room
Non-greasy formula (no need to wash hands after in contact with it)
Nice, light fragrance
Easily absorbed by skin
Doesn’t form white streaks when applied on skin
Doesn’t work on fine lines
Doesn’t work on cellulite or stretch marks
Doesn’t seem to firm up skin
Causes mild redness and itchiness (but tolerable)
I have doubts whether this product does work on reducing wrinkles, fine lines and firming up skin as I don’t see any change in those areas on my skin after 2 weeks of application. Overall, I still think this is quite a good moisturizer for daily use and with longer usage, one is likely to achieve even-toned skin and less visible sun spots or pigmentation. Best of all, it doesn’t burn a hole in our pockets.
I rate this product a 7/10.
The Vaseline healthy white perfect 10 lotion is not suitable for my skin as the skin turns red and itches badly that I have to see a skin specialist at National skin centre. I was told to stop using it as the skin develops blisters.
Hello Tang, thanks for sharing your experience. Hope your skin condition has recovered. Please take care!
The same goes for me. I developed red and itchy rashes all over where I applied the lotion after 2-3 hours of application. I washed it off immediately, took a 180mg telfast and applied anti-inflammatory cream to curb it. This lotion is NOT suitable for sensitive/dry skin. Use it at your own risk.
I like it when skin care products doesn’t burn a hole in the pocket but of course, results are much more important. Even when a product is cheap if you don’t get the results you want, for me it’s still burning the pocket. A waste. I’ve tried vaseline before. It’s great in moisturizing the skin but other than that I haven’t seen any magical results after finishing up the tube.
